CGPA Full Form – What Is The Full Form Of CGPA

CGPA full form is called Cumulative Grade Point Average. CGPA is an educational grading system and today CGPA is used only to tell the overall academic performance of students in all schools and collages.

In order to get CGPA, the total of the grade points in all your subjects are divided by the number of subject. For example – You have five subjects and you get grade points such as 8, 8, 7, 9, and 6 and its  total becomes 38 and then 38 is divided by 5, your CGPA become 7.6.

How to calculate Percentage from CGPA?

The percentage of marks can be calculated as follows:

  • Subject wise percentage of marks = 9.5 * GP of the subject
  • Overall percentage of marks = 9.5 * CGPA

Example: If a student have got total 9.6 CGPA, it means his/her total percentage of marks: 9.5*9.6 = 91.2%.

How is Grading given in CGPA?

As I told you above, in different countries there is different method of giving grading in CGPA, but in our country, in most schools and collages, grading is given on percentage based.
