- Tap Virtual Assistant Dia and allow the app to record audio, so the app can listen and provide feedback.
- Explore the story library, play a game, or download a new story from the list of options.

- When you read a word and get it correct, a star will appear. If you get it wrong, a red line will appear and you can tap on it to hear the word out loud.
- The app sets a goal of reading at least 10 minutes a day, and tracks your progress and the number of stars and badges you earn.
- Tap the lamp at any time for help pronouncing a word. Google says that all the responses from Diya have been positive and strengthening.
- Parents can also create profiles for multiple children to track individual progress.
- Read Along can personalize the experience for each profile and recommend the right difficulty level of stories and games based on reading performance in the app.
- Read Along was first launched in India, and is now available in over 180 countries and in nine languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi.
